Curriculum Vitae

Michal Varchola was born in Košice in Slovak Republic, in 1984. He finished Secondary Electrotechnical School in Košice in the field of Automation Techlonogy, in 2002. He received his Ing. (M.Sc.) degree in Electronics & Commuincation Technologies from Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Technical University of Košice, in 2007. He successufuly defended his Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D.) degree in Infoelectronics from Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Technical University of Košice on August 27, 2010 under supervision of Assoc. Prof. Miloš Drutarovský, Ph.D. His main research area is Cryptography for Embedded Systems and particularly Cryptographic True Random Number Generators (TRNGs) for FieldProgrammable Gate Arrays (FPGAs).


Michal Varchola has been participating in several national and international research projectsand has taken part in several study or research stays abroad in Germany, Finland, France and the USA. He was successful in many competitions in the field of electronics since 1997 as well.

Michal Varchola was and still is cooperating with several commercial companies in the fieldof embedded systems development meanwhile his studies, such as: Inspect, ZTS VVÚ a.s., Micronic s.r.o. and CMMS s.r.o. He owns the Certificate of Security Clearance of Classification Level Confidential issued by the Slovak SecurityAgency.
